On the evening of February 26, at the Vietnam Golden Ball 2024 awards gala, striker Nguyen Tien Linh was honored in the highest category for men. In an interview after winning a noble title, Tien Linh could not hide his happiness.
"It is a source of pride for me to touch the Ballon d'Or award for the first time in my career. I am happy today that not only me, my family is here, and colleagues are here to congratulate me. This is a great motivation for me in the coming journey to be able to compete well in the club as well as the national team in the coming time.
Not just this title, I don't want to stop here. I want to conquer many new heights in my career. Hopefully in the coming time, in the coming years, I will participate in the Golden Ball award gala many times," Tien Linh shared.
Regarding the hopes after being honored, Tien Linh said: "Binh Duong Club is in a good position this season. The most important thing for me this year is that Binh Duong will have some titles and the national team will win many victories in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers".
In the situation where Xuan Son is out due to injury, Tien Linh will have to shoulder the task of scoring for the Vietnam team. When asked about Xuan Son, Tien Linh hoped that other players could fill the position Son left behind.
"Son's injury is a big loss for the Vietnamese team. Son's class has been demonstrated during his years playing in Vietnam. The absence of Son is a big loss for the Vietnamese team.
