However, amidst the joy of the whole team, Tien Linh encountered a rare incident when he received a gold medal with the words “Runners up” (runner-up) instead of “Champion” for the champion like his teammates. After learning that his medal was printed with the wrong words, Tien Linh asked the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to request the ASEAN Cup 2024 Organizing Committee to change the medal.
