On the afternoon of March 13, striker Nguyen Tien Linh appeared at the training session of the Vietnam team in Binh Duong, but he still practiced separately outside. Previously, in the team's first training session yesterday (October 12), Tien Linh, Dinh Thanh Binh, Bui Hoang Viet Anh and Nguyen Quang Hai were not present.
Regarding this absence, Tien Linh said: "Yesterday, 4 players were absent also due to health problems and poor physical condition. People want to check the extent of their injuries. In the coming time, Linh will practice recovery with the Vietnam team doctor for 1-2 days. Hopefully he will recover in time to prepare for the friendly match and the Asian Cup qualifiers.
Before the training session, the entire V.League team was in relatively good physical condition and fitness. Linh and Binh are in the process of recovering but will only practice again after 1-2 days, so it will not be too much of a concern for the two brothers".
Regarding Xuan Son's absence, Tien Linh said: "Xuan Son's injury is an unfortunate thing and a big loss for the Vietnamese team. He had an extremely successful and wonderful tournament (ASEAN Cup 2024 - PV). The rest, my teammates and I will have to do well to replace Xuan Son, especially in the next 2 matches".
"The whole team is in a very relaxed spirit and are looking forward to important matches such as the Asian Cup qualifiers. The whole team is showing good solidarity and fitness after the V.League rounds. Hopefully the whole team will stay fit and united for the upcoming matches," Tien Linh added.
Before the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers against Laos on March 25, the Vietnam team will have an international friendly match with Cambodia on March 19.
Regarding these two opponents, Tien Linh commented: "Meeting Southeast Asia is familiar to the Vietnam team. What we have shown in the recent tournament is confidence and must show our mettle and position in the Southeast Asian arena".
