Recently, Siam Sport (Thailand) published an article titled: "Shocking bonus... of Nguyen Xuan Son after winning the ASEAN Cup 2024".
Accordingly, the leading sports newspaper of the Golden Temple country expressed surprise when the naturalized striker born in 1997 received a huge bonus.
"Xuan Son was awarded a total of about 40 billion VND, including cash and gifts, equivalent to about 40.3 million baht. Of which, a luxury apartment in Hanoi worth about 33 million baht was presented by the Chairman of Nam Dinh Club.
In addition to the luxury apartment, Xuan Son also received two cars worth more than VND2 billion (about 2.67 million baht) and cash from sponsors," Siam Sport wrote.
At the ASEAN Cup 2024, Nguyen Xuan Son had an impressive performance. He played from the last match of the group stage against Myanmar, scoring 7 goals and 2 assists after 5 matches. The 1997 striker also received the "Top scorer" and "Best player" titles of the tournament.
Unfortunately, in the second leg of the final in Thailand (January 5), Xuan Son broke his leg and had to undergo surgery a few days later. Currently, the Vietnamese player is in the recovery phase.
According to information from Nam Dinh club, after the Lunar New Year holiday, Xuan Son returned to Hanoi to continue his rehabilitation at the hospital. This player has been actively practicing walking with a machine or holding onto the bed or railing to walk short distances. When walking, Xuan Son still needs crutches.
Normally, for such injuries, it takes at least 2 months for the patient to be able to put down the crutches and practice walking. However, in Xuan Son's case, although he still cannot stand completely upright and has to use the railing for support, he has made remarkable progress.
Walking without crutches shows that Xuan Son's recovery is going quickly, and he may return to competition by the end of 2025.
