The Vietnam women's team will gather in the first phase of 2026, and also plan to train in China before entering the 2026 Asian Women's Football Championship.

In preparation for the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 finals held in Australia from March 1, 2026, the Vietnamese women's team will officially gather in the first phase of 2026 from January 14.

In the first training camp of the year, head coach Mai Duc Chung summoned 28 players to train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. In parallel with the training process, the coaching staff continues to orient the selection and training of young players.

Specifically, some players playing in the national U19 women's football championship will be monitored and evaluated during the competition and may be called up after the tournament ends on February 7.

In the key preparation phase, the Vietnamese women's team will have a training trip in China from February 7 to February 14 to strengthen physical training, accumulate experience and improve their playing style, aiming to achieve optimal form before entering the continental tournament.

Previously, the draw ceremony for the AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 finals was held at the Sydney City Hall (Australia) on the afternoon of July 29, 2025. According to the draw results, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group C with opponents Japan, India and Taipei China.

According to the format, the top two teams in each group and the top two teams in third place with the best results will win the right to enter the quarterfinals.

Regarding the schedule, the Vietnamese women's team will meet India in the opening match on March 4th. The next 2 matches against Taipei China and Japan will take place on March 7th and 10th respectively. Coach Mai Duc Chung's team will play all 3 matches at Perth Rectangular Stadium.
