VFF extends contract with Japanese Technical Director

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has just decided to extend the contract with Technical Director Koshida Takeshi.

The contract extension signing ceremony was held at VFF headquarters on February 12. Mr. Koshida Takeshi continues to hold the position of VFF Technical Director for tasks in 2025.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi was born in 1960 and spent many years contributing to Japanese football as a player before moving into coaching in 1995.

He used to be the head coach of the Ishikawa regional football team, the Kanazawa Sakuragaoka school football team... He also served as the Technical Director of the Zweigen Kanazawa club - a team competing in the J.League from 2006 to 2010.

In addition, he has also held the position of advisor for Hokuriku University since 2013. With more than 30 years of experience in the football field, Mr. Koshida Takeshi was trusted to participate in the national coach training for the Japan Football Association (JFA) at level C, B, A courses.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi has officially assumed the position of VFF Technical Director from June 1, 2023 to present. During his time working in Vietnam, Mr. Koshida Takeshi has participated in organizing and teaching 16 training courses for C, B, A coaches of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), training and evaluating the Vietnamese teaching staff, and organizing football seminars to help Vietnamese lecturers/coaches catch up with Asian and world football trends.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi also directly participated in contributing ideas to build the community football program in Vietnam, making an important contribution to helping VFF achieve Professional membership (the highest level) in the AFC Coaching Convention.

VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu said that the contract extension with Koshida Takeshi is necessary and in line with Vietnam's football development strategy, in which training coaches and coach instructors for youth football levels is very important.

“The Vietnam Football Federation believes that Technical Director Koshida Takeshi will continue to make effective contributions to the plan to strengthen national teams, train coaches and improve the quality of football training in Vietnam in the coming period,” General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu emphasized.
