On February 18, Thanh Hoa club sent an official dispatch to the VFF Complaints Resolution Board for suspecting that the referee caught the Thanh Hoa - Ho Chi Minh City match in round 13 of V.League negative. Thanh Hoa Club has presented a series of documents that show that there are problems in the management of the referee team for the match between this team and Ho Chi Minh City taking place at Thong Nhat Stadium on February 14.

By the evening of February 21, VFF also issued an official announcement about the complaint of Thanh Hoa club and admitted errors in the refereeing work.
The VFF announcement stated: "In some situations that the club reflected in the document, the referee team has had accurate management. However, there were still some mistakes, in which the situation in the 65th minute could affect the result of the match".
Based on the received report, VFF has directed the relevant departments to stop performing the duties of the referees and related individuals as well as strictly handle the errors.
VFF also affirmed that it always focuses on refereeing and hopes to receive cooperation from clubs in the development of Vietnamese professional football.
