This morning (January 7), President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan visited and encouraged player Nguyen Xuan Son at Vinmec Hospital. Son has just undergone surgery to treat an injury he suffered in the second leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final. Accompanying President Tran Quoc Tuan were Vice President Nguyen Trung Kien and General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu.
President Tran Quoc Tuan expressed his deep concern and congratulated Nguyen Xuan Son on his successful surgery. President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that Xuan Son's dedication and fighting spirit are a great inspiration for the Vietnamese team and football fans. He also affirmed that VFF will always accompany and support Nguyen Xuan Son during his recovery process.
On behalf of VFF, President Tran Quoc Tuan sent his thanks to Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung, Director of Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Trauma, Vinmec Healthcare System and the team of surgeons who have devotedly treated Nguyen Xuan Son, and believes that with the best medical care, Xuan Son will soon recover and return to the field.
In addition to VFF leaders, many players and coaches also visited and encouraged Xuan Son such as striker Nguyen Tien Linh, center back Do Duy Manh, coach Vu Hong Viet and members of the coaching staff of Nam Dinh team... also came to share with Xuan Son.
Nguyen Xuan Son is one of the key players of the Vietnamese team at the ASEAN Cup 2024. In the second leg of the final match against Thailand, he suffered a serious injury and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Bangkok.
The examination and X-ray results confirmed that Son had broken his right fibula and tibia. Although he had to leave the field early, Xuan Son's spirit and efforts urged his teammates to persevere in their fight to win the final match against their arch-rival Thailand, thereby winning the regional championship for the third time.
With his important contributions to the Vietnam national team, Nguyen Xuan Son was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President.
