Quang Ngai province has nearly 2,000 people infected with HIV, of which more than 1,400 people have switched to the AIDS stage and 612 deaths. There are currently nearly 960 patients receiving ARV treatment.

In 2025, communication work on HIV/AIDS and drug prevention in Quang Ngai will be strongly implemented in many forms. More than 2,000 people in high-risk groups have been directly consulted and more than 20,000 screening samples have been taken, contributing to the control of HIV/AIDS in the area.

The health sector of Quang Ngai province is making efforts to innovate risk intervention methods, expand treatment and eliminate discrimination towards the goal of ending AIDS by 2030.

Dr. CKI Pham Van Long - Head of the Department of HIV/AIDS Prevention, Center for Disease Control of Quang Ngai province - said: "When infected with HIV, if treatment is good for at least 3 months, the patient's health will be stable. When tested, the viral load in the body was almost undetected, and if not detected, the disease was not transmitted through sex, and the patient's health was maintained quite well".

Mr. Phan Minh Dan - Deputy Director of the Department of Health of Quang Ngai province - said: "The health sector is focusing on treatment and propaganda to make people understand that we have very effective ARV drugs that can control HIV. In the coming time, the industry will continue to communicate to the community, reduce discrimination against patients, and at the same time deploy preventive treatment for high-risk subjects in addition to ARV treatment".
