Speaking to reporters, the Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union said that May is a special occasion for workers and laborers nationwide - not only Workers' Month but also Month of action on occupational safety and hygiene. This is an opportunity for trade unions at all levels to comprehensively care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers.
In 2025, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched Workers' Month with the theme "Vietnamese workers pioneering in entering a new era" - clearly demonstrating the determination to innovate, create and affirming the core role of the working class in the cause of modernization of the country, national digital transformation and sustainable development.
In recent years, emulation movements in the Vietnam Electricity Group have truly gone into depth. The "Good workers, creative workers" movement, the "10 thousand initiatives" program, "1 million initiatives to overcome difficulties - develop" have aroused and promoted the intellectual potential and the spirit of tireless dedication of the team of cadres, civil servants, and workers in the whole industry.
In the period of 20222023 alone, the whole Group has had 12,931 initiatives, reaching 129% of the target, demonstrating the strong creativity of electricity workers - Mr. Do Duc Hung shared.
In order to continue that success and specify the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo - on "Breakthrough in developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation", on April 15, 2025, EVN General Director and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union signed and issued a Joint Directive to launch the emulation movement "Creative Labor" and the "10 thousand initiatives" Program for the period 2025-2028.
The goal of this phase program is: Each year, the whole Group has at least 2,500 recognized initiatives, bringing the total to 10,000 initiatives in 4 years; each year, there are at least 5 works, topics, and solutions that have won prizes at technical and creative competitions at the ministerial, industry, or national level; strive to have at least 10% of staff in each unit as authors or co-authors of initiatives.
To achieve the above goals, the Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union said that leaders and the Trade Union need to continue to launch emulation campaigns to promote the pioneering, creative and proactive spirit in each cadre, worker, civil servant and employee; mobilize collective intelligence, promote proposal of solutions, initiatives, technical improvements, apply digital technology, contribute to optimizing processes, saving costs and improving the efficiency of production and business activities; closely link the emulation movement with EVN's strategic goal of digital transformation, green and sustainable development, building a truly reliable support for workers.
The affiliated trade union levels continue to closely follow the direction, promote the initiative and flexibility in organizing activities of workers and creative initiatives; Each union member and employee should actively register and implement the initiative, contributing to turning each workplace into a "an innovative center"; Specialized levels, business leaders accompany and coordinate closely with the Trade Union in creating conditions, supporting and encouraging the emulation movement to spread widely and effectively.
With the immortal spirit of International Labor Day (1.5), promoting the good nature and glorious traditions of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union, I believe that all levels of trade unions and workers in the electricity industry have been striving to complete the set goals - Mr. Do Duc Hung commented.
