Appearing in "Love Station" in a charming pink dress, Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam (born in 1990, Nam Dinh) confidently absorbed the verses composed by herself. She confided that it was one of the ways to make her life easier and more peaceful.
Introducing herself, the girl revealed that she is also known as the glass-claimed Pearl. "I am 33 years old this year, because of CSR, the number of broken bones is many times higher than my age. The organ lining was also damaged. However, failure is his job, trying is his job" - Thanh Tam calmly shared about her illness.
Sitting in a wheelchair, Thanh Tam's movement was always supported by her mother Nguyen Thanh Su. "Tam suffered from CSL disease since birth. At that time, I saw my child's leg bent inside. When Tam was over 2 years old, his family took him for a leg surgery, and the doctor concluded that Tam had CSL disease. The family just heard that but did not understand what disease it was, and later broke her leg continuously to know the dangers of this disease" - Ms. Nguyen Thanh Su shared about her daughter.
In order for Thanh Tam to be able to go to school, family members had to take turns picking her up and dropping her off, four times a day. Not giving up the efforts and hearts of grandparents and parents, Tam has achieved the title of excellent student for 9 consecutive years. Although she is very passionate about studying, due to health conditions and high school being 15 km from her home, the 9X girl sadly wished to go to school.
Although she had to stop on her studies, Tam's wish to become a teacher grew. Overcoming adversity and illness, she pursued her dream in a very unique way by starting to tutoring students.
At that time, parents were the largest sponsors and in the first days, tables and chairs for teaching were all homemade by parents. Just like that, a class named "Ngoc Tam Thuy Tinh" with the "5 no's" criteria including: no exam, no board, no podium, no lesson plan and no tuition fee has been established.
Although not properly trained as a real teacher, teacher Tam's class has continuously welcomed students from grades 1 to 8 to study for nearly twenty years, even students from other provinces.
Despite her chronic illness, Thanh Tam always finds ways to make herself happy, such as writing poetry, teaching, or participating in activities of disabled people and many other charity programs.
She founded the "Ngoc Tam Thuy Tinh" Scholarship Fund. Every time the semester ends and the school year ends, the "Ngoc Tam Thuy Tinh" class strives to give rewards and gifts to children in poor rural areas.
In addition, she also built a bookcase of 1,500 books with the hope of bringing knowledge to students.
When asked about her plans for the future, teacher Thanh Tam just wanted to have good health to continue her teaching work.
In addition, the 9X girl hopes to inspire many young people, many people in the same situation in the Nam Dinh Province Disabled Youth Club.
