This is a meaningful sports activity to celebrate the anniversary of major holidays organized by the Hoa Vang District Labor Federation (LDLD), Da Nang.
The tournament is also part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Hoa Vang District (March 28, 1975 - March 28, 2025), the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 2010 - March 8, 2025) and the 1985 anniversary of Hai Ba Trung Uprising Day.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha, Vice President of the City Labor Federation, Mr. Hoang Bach Tung, Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Labor Federation for Women, representatives of leaders of specialized departments and offices of Hoa Vang district, 11 communes, leaders of enterprises and especially the participation of more than 100 athletes from 14 football teams.
The teams are divided into 4 groups, competing in a 5-a-side football format, with a round-robin to calculate points. The first and second teams in each group will advance to the next round, competing in a knockout round to compete for the championship. The tournament is not only a useful sports playground but also an opportunity for female union members and employees to exercise, improve their spiritual life, and enhance exchanges and solidarity between trade unions at all levels in the district.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Huynh Tan, Chairman of the Hoa Vang District Labor Federation, emphasized that the tournament is a practical activity in response to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", strengthening gender equality in sports and contributing to the development of the labor movement and the activities of the Hoa Vang District Labor Union.
Right after the opening ceremony, the matches took place extremely excitingly and attractively with a noble and united sportsmanship. The mini football tournament for female workers in Hoa Vang district is scheduled to take place from February 26 to March 5, 2025 at Tung An football field, Hoa Phong commune.
