On the evening of May 23, the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation organized the opening ceremony of the 2026 Provincial Workers, Civil Servants and Laborers Sports Festival in the eastern region of Lam Dong with a lively and exciting atmosphere.
The sports festival attracted nearly 400 athletes from 16 delegations that are trade unions of communes and wards in the area to compete in many sports.
In which, 5-a-side men's football is a compulsory sport with 25 teams registering to participate. In addition, there are also men's and women's jumping rope and men's and women's juggling, each event has 16 teams competing.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ho Cong Duong - Standing Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation said that the sports festival is one of the key activities in response to Workers' Month 2026, towards celebrating the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
According to Mr. Duong, the activity aims to promote the movement of physical training and sports among union members and workers. At the same time, create a healthy playground, strengthen exchanges and learning between commune and ward trade unions in the province.
The sports festival is organized in 3 areas including the provincial center, the western province and the eastern province to create conditions for a large number of union members and workers throughout the province to participate in competitions and exchanges.
Previously, competition activities in the western and central areas of the province took place sôi nổi.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the teams entered the competition in the men's - women's sack dancing and men's - women's dây dancing events. These are competitions that require rhythmic coordination and high team spirit, so they attract a large number of fans to watch and cheer.

Some strong teams from grassroots trade unions with regular preparation and training have contributed dramatic matches, many matches having to be decided by penalty shootouts.
The organizers said they have carefully checked the dossiers of participating athletes to ensure compliance with regulations.
The athletes must all be union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers working in agencies, units, and enterprises with grassroots trade unions directly under the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation.
The sports festival not only creates a healthy sports playground for union members and workers but also contributes to strengthening the spirit of solidarity, exchange, and exchange of experiences in labor and production between units in the province.
