Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union (VTC) said that due to the specific working conditions of construction workers who often have to work in a heavy, toxic working environment, and are often exposed to various types of machinery and mechanical equipment on construction sites, the work of ensuring safety and hygiene is regularly focused on and implemented by trade unions at all levels in coordination with authorities at the same level.
Every year, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union coordinates with the Ministry of Construction to organize the launching ceremony of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), to propagate and mobilize units, enterprises and workers to raise awareness of complying with regulations on USH.
Trade unions at all levels have coordinated with employers to organize 5,126 training sessions on occupational safety and hygiene for 154,929 union officials and employees; distributed tens of thousands of leaflets and publications to promote occupational safety and hygiene; maintained and strongly developed the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" to improve working conditions, build a safe and friendly working environment for employees; organized visits, gave gifts, and encouraged thousands of workers who have had work-related accidents and occupational diseases. In particular, maintaining a safety and hygiene network in production teams has contributed significantly to minimizing the number of serious work accidents.
Every year, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union participates with the State Appraisal Department of Construction Quality, Ministry of Construction to inspect compliance with the law on occupational safety and health ( inspected at 3 factories, 1 construction work).
The affiliated trade unions at all levels coordinated with the professional sector to organize 4,983 inspections on occupational safety and health, thereby promptly detecting errors in the construction and production process of units and enterprises at risk of occupational safety, violations in labor safety regulations to promptly correct and repair them...
