Among the participants, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hoat, a worker at the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Drainage Company, could not hide his emotions and said that his hometown is in Hanoi, but because he had to take care of his wife with thyroid cancer and had financial difficulties, his family could not return home to celebrate Tet.
“Seeing everyone excitedly returning to their hometowns, I also felt sad. But thanks to this program, my family had a very special Tet. The gifts and encouragement from the city leaders and the union are spiritual gifts that I will never forget,” Hoat shared.
Besides Hoat, Nguyen Sy Sau (from Nghe An), a tree care worker in Ho Chi Minh City, also shared his feelings about missing his hometown during Tet. Because the cost of returning home for a family of four is up to 20 million VND, Sau and his family decided to stay in the city. “Although I can’t go back, the gift from the program is a great encouragement, helping me feel the sharing from the trade union and society,” Sau said.
At the program, the workers not only received meaningful material and spiritual gifts, but also felt the sincere care of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union and their colleagues. The words of encouragement, sharing and New Year wishes from the city leaders made Mr. Nguyen Sy Sau's family and other families attending the program feel cared for and shared.
Mr. Pham Chi Tam, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, said: "Tet Nguyen Dan is an important traditional holiday of the nation, an occasion to look back on the past year and welcome a new spring coming for everyone to reunite with their families, together welcoming a peaceful and happy new year. However, somewhere in the city, there are many children far from home, unable to return home to celebrate Tet, reunite with their families, so "Tet Sum vay - Xuan Doan Ket" At Ty 2025 is a meaningful activity to bring a warm and united Tet to the families of workers and laborers".
The program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Doan Ket" not only brings joy and warmth to families of workers far from home, but also demonstrates the solidarity and mutual love of the trade union organization.
