According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, after the Lunar New Year 2026, the labor market in the Capital witnessed high recruitment demand and shortage of mainly human resources in the following industries: Services - sales, manufacturing - industry, information technology, logistics and tourism - hotel.
Hanoi Employment Service Center also specifically forecasts as follows:
Services, sales & marketing: The recruitment demand is very large after Tet to serve business and retail activities.
Production, industry, mechanics: Factories and industrial parks in Hanoi and neighboring areas need a large number of workers and mechanical and electrical engineers to restart production lines.
Logistics & supply chain: Increased demand for transportation and warehousing, requiring more warehouse staff, drivers, and supply chain managers.
Tourism & Hotels: Shortage of qualified personnel, service staff, and receptionists after the peak Tet tourism season.
Information Technology & AI: Still in a state of "thirst" for highly qualified personnel in software and artificial intelligence.
The Vietnamese labor market bulletin recently released by the Ministry of Home Affairs forecasts that in the first quarter of 2026, the number of employed workers may increase by about 300,000 people compared to the previous quarter, bringing the total number to about 53 million people, reflecting a clear recovery trend of the labor market.
In which, food production and processing enterprises are forecast to increase labor demand by about 3.1%, while the transportation manufacturing industry will increase by about 2.6%. These are the sectors that are assessed as "thirsty" for human resources after Tet when orders recover and production activities are promoted again.
