87 billion VND to take care of Tet for union members in Quang Ngai

In 2024, trade unions at all levels in Quang Ngai will allocate over 87 billion VND to take care of Tet for more than 154,000 union members and workers.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan - Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial Labor Federation, up to now, the Provincial Labor Federation has directly managed 13 Labor Federations of districts, towns and cities; 4 industry unions and equivalent; 8 affiliated grassroots unions with more than 107,000 union members/116,000 workers and employees, operating in more than 1,000 grassroots unions. The work of developing union members has reached 171% of the set target. In 2024, trade unions at all levels in Quang Ngai have allocated over 87 billion VND to take care of Tet for more than 154,000 union members and workers.

During Workers' Month 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 270 gifts to union members, workers and civil servants who were in difficult circumstances or had work-related accidents, with a total amount of VND 290 million. In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union and the Department of Health to organize medical examinations, health consultations and provide free medicine to nearly 500 union members, young workers and employees in enterprises.

Trade unions at all levels supported union members to build and repair 97 "Union Shelters" with over VND4.1 billion; of which, the Provincial Labor Federation supported the construction of 30 new houses with VND1.5 billion, with a support level of VND50 million/house.

Social and charity work has been actively carried out at all levels of the union. Union members, workers and employees at all levels have donated more than 1,600 units of blood. In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor has mobilized 22 agencies, units and enterprises to donate 635 million VND to care for and improve the lives of union members and workers.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan, in 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor has set out 10 key tasks and solutions. In particular, focusing on the task of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. Thoroughly implementing solutions to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions in non-state enterprises.

“Trade unions at all levels in the province are encouraging and calling on workers and civil servants in the province to join hands and join hands with the province to complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. The work of taking care of the poor during the Lunar New Year 2025 will also be implemented soon, ensuring that all union members and workers in the province have a Tet holiday,” said Mr. Nguyen Phuc Nhan.
