Nearly 100 vice presidents of provincial and municipal labor federations, central industry unions, general corporation unions, economic and public service units under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in the southern region participated in the "Training course for key deputy union officials in 2024" organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, opening on the morning of October 15 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the opening of the course, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized that in recent years, the Vietnam Trade Union has always focused on training and improving the qualifications of trade union officials. In the period of national innovation, especially in the context of frequent and continuous changes in the international and domestic context, especially the impact of the 4th industrial revolution, training and updating knowledge for trade union officials has become increasingly important.
Based on Regulation No. 145-QD/TW dated May 10, 2024 of the Politburo "On the regime of training and updating knowledge and skills for leaders and managers at all levels", the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has developed a plan for training, fostering and standardizing the team of trade union officials, including the chairmen and vice chairmen of the provincial and municipal labor federations, central industry trade unions, trade unions of corporations, economic and public service units under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The purpose of the training and knowledge update course is to help union officials broaden their vision, improve their capacity and thinking, and form working methods and styles suitable for the new situation. At the same time, the course also helps union officials have the opportunity to meet, exchange and share experiences, especially on difficult and inadequacies in practice.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu also suggested that during the 3-day course, union officials need to concentrate, improve their responsibility, actively discuss, be serious, respect class time, and participate in contributing ideas to complete the class's tasks.
According to the plan, during the 3-day period, union officials will listen to the vice presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and senior reporters from a number of relevant ministries and branches discuss and guide 10 topics.
Topics include: Thinking, vision and skills of trade union officials in the new context; New context and issues facing the Vietnam Trade Union; Skills in directing the work of representing, caring for and protecting the rights of workers; Skills in directing propaganda work in the new context; Skills in directing the work of inspecting and supervising trade unions; Skills in directing women's union work; Skills in directing trade union finance work; Bidding work; Security situation among workers and the task of building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises; and Organizational work and trade union officials.
