From early morning on August 5, many workers under contractor Vinaconex were present on the Ring Road 4 parallel road project to carry out the main items such as K98 embankment, construction of type 1 crushed stone aggregate and asphalt pavement. Each person has a job, from operating a coil, a material vehicle, to paving the road surface, everyone is working hard in the scorching sun.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thai - a worker in the asphalt pavement team shared that in this weather, if you wear thin clothes, you can easily get high in the sun and heat, but if you wear them too tight, you will always feel like in the furnace. "We have to divide our work shifts to work early or late, and take longer to have lunch to ensure our health. Although it is difficult, we must still try to complete the project on schedule" - Mr. Thai said.
Not only do workers directly spread the asphalt, but drivers also have to work as hard. At the roadbed coil control room, Mr. Nguyen The An - who has more than 20 years of experience in operation said: "The cabin is small, the engine is constantly hot inside the shaft. I had to install an electric fan myself and bring a refrigerator to cool it down.
Having to work hard in the hot peak, the team of engineers and workers all made efforts and were determined to complete the project on schedule, with the highest quality and efficiency.
Ensuring the health of workers
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Le Hung Hoang, Deputy Commander of Construction Team No. 2 (contractor Vinaconex) said that the work of ensuring safety and health care for workers has been given top priority by the construction unit in the harsh weather conditions of recent days.
Accordingly, all workers at the construction site are fully equipped with labor protection and additional sun protection equipment such as hats, covers, and heat-resistant shirts. During the day, the contractor organized reasonable work shifts, ensuring that no one had to stand outdoors for too long, and at the same time added thin salt water to reduce the risk of loss of strength for workers.
Mr. Hoang said that up to now, package No. 9 - construction of the Ring Road 4 parallel road section through Hanoi is reaching about 70% of the workload, basically following the set progress. This is one of the packages with good construction progress, ensuring technical and quality requirements, playing an important role in the overall route.
In addition to package No. 9, other packages of the Ring Road 4 parallel road project are also being accelerated by contractors. Throughout the construction sites stretching across communes and wards in Hanoi, many engineers and workers are still tirelessly "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", racing against time, speeding up the project's progress.
The goal is that by the end of 2025, the entire Ring Road 4 parallel road section through Hanoi will be basically completed and technically opened to traffic. This will be a vital route, connecting Hanoi, Bac Ninh and Hung Yen cities, contributing to reducing traffic congestion, expanding the space for socio-economic development and urbanization for the entire Hanoi Capital region.
