On December 2, Tan Thanh Industrial Park Police Station (HCMC) recommended that workers in 9 industrial parks under their management need to be more vigilant against the scenario of "Giving 0 VND as gifts", which is a trick that criminals use as a target to carry out fraud and appropriate property.
Recently, taking advantage of the time when there are major promotional programs of e-commerce platforms, subjects have implemented "Give 0 VND" scenarios to steal people's personal information, or appropriate money.
The subjects contacted the victims, claiming to be employees of large e-commerce platforms in operation, informing them that you are a lucky customer receiving free gifts (usually not worth more than 100,000 VND) and reward vouchers.
A few days later, the delivery person will send the gift to the location, pasting the logo of the electronic platform to make the victim believe. However, when receiving gifts, the subject will ask the recipient to take a photo of his face, confirm his identity, sign a receipt... and promise to be able to receive more valuable gifts.
After that, the subjects will contact to inform you that you have won the prize, and request payment for gift insurance from 2-5 million VND; or international shipping fee, application fee...
If they trust the money transfer, the victim will lose everything. In addition, the victim is also likely to have his personal information stolen to commit other acts such as borrowing money online; opening an illegal e-wallet... There are even cases where he was lured many times, appropriating hundreds of millions of VND.
Tan Thanh Industrial Park Police Station recommends that businesses and workers in industrial parks need to increase vigilance to protect their assets and personal information. Absolutely do not believe in the tricks of "Giving 0 VND as gifts"; "Lucky customers"; "Receiving free bonuses" of the subjects.
Workers in industrial parks absolutely do not transfer money for any "insurance fee - gift receipt fee"; do not take photos of faces, citizen identification cards, or personal information to strangers. In case of participating in promotional programs, check carefully on the official application. At the same time, they refused and immediately reported to the police when they saw any unusual signs.
