Many outstanding results in 2024
At the conference to summarize the emulation movement in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025 of the emulation cluster of the 5 centrally-run city Labor Federations held on the morning of February 25, Ms. Huynh Thi Hien - Permanent Vice President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, reported summarizing the results of the Trade Union activities of the 5 city Labor Federations in 2024.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation 5 has closely followed the functions and tasks of the Trade Union organization and the direction of the General Confederation and the City Party Committee; developed programs and plans to implement many innovative, creative, focused and key activities. From there, basically achieve and exceed the targets and tasks assigned by the General Confederation of Labor with outstanding results.
The 5-city Labor Federation directed the Trade Union to coordinate with the professional level to organize labor conferences (LD) at 5,909 units; 5,885 enterprises signed collective labor agreements (CLAs). In 2024 alone, the units signed 1,672 new collective labor agreements and negotiated with employers to adjust the value of shift meals to the prescribed level.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, the 5 City Labor Federation directed all levels of the Trade Union to implement a series of programs "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng", with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet" with 1.72 million workers, civil servants and laborers (CNVCLD) being cared for and supported, with an amount of over 951 billion VND.
Contributing to the city in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, 5 cities have supported the construction and repair of 390 Trade Union Shelters with an amount of over 19 billion VND; presented gifts and subsidies to union members in difficult circumstances with a total amount of over 10.5 billion VND.
The "Union Meal" activity aims to thank employees on the occasion of "Workers' Month associated with Labor Safety and Hygiene Month", the Trade Unions at all levels coordinate with employers to organize and support 38,564 union members and employees in difficult circumstances with an amount of more than 168 billion VND. Patriotic emulation movements, promoting initiatives and topics were promoted with 179,746 initiatives, with a value of over VND 86.2 billion.
The 5-city Labor Federation has developed an additional 276,143 union members, accounting for 23% of the total number of additional union members nationwide; established 2,471 grassroots unions, introduced 42,070 union members to the Party organization for consideration and training.
Focus on developing union members
At the conference, on behalf of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the important contributions of the 5-city Labor Confederations in the general results of all levels of trade unions nationwide.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested that the City Labor Federations must be determined and creative in implementing the contents closely following the theme of activities in 2025 "Focusing on developing union members; participating in building a clean and strong Party"; promptly implementing and focusing on bringing the Trade Union Law into life; focusing on implementing resolutions, programs, and projects to implement the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Action Program No. 02/CTr-TLD dated July 20, 2021 implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, Resolution 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo on Innovation of the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation...
On this occasion, Emulation Cluster of the City Labor Federation 5 signed an emulation colution in 2025; committed to seriously implementing and determined to strive to compete to complete the targets and tasks of the emulation colution in 2025.
