On May 22, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) held a conference to honor outstanding businesses and union members in 2025.
Attending were Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
At the conference, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation Le Thi Suong Mai informed that the Can Tho City Labor Union currently has 1,202 grassroots unions, 90.469 union members/97,211 workers, civil servants and laborers. In addition to effective care activities, the City's Trade Unions at all levels have launched a variety of emulation movements with many practical initiatives and projects.
The conference is an opportunity for the city to honor typical enterprises - an important core for sustainable development; at the same time, it recognizes and commends exemplary and dedicated union members - those who have made silent but meaningful contributions to the construction and development of Can Tho City, a beautiful and civilized city.
In joy and honor at being honored, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Dan - Head of Production Team (Huy Viet Tay Do Production and Trading Company Limited) - shared: "The joy was multiplied when I was recognized in both roles that I have always been passionate about, a Production Team Leader and a union member. This is both a recognition and a source of motivation for me to continue trying in the future.
Through his work at the company, the male team leader has actively participated in the emulation movement for production labor. Notably, the initiative to improve the use of microorganisms to treat suspended solids and increase the pH of wastewater instead of using accumulation chemicals, NaOH, helps the company save more than 36% of wastewater treatment costs (more than 500 million VND/year).
Sharing the same joy, Mr. Dao Thanh - Head of the Testing Department, Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Thoi Lai District Medical Center - said that this is an honor and pride for him. In nearly 20 works, he has had 3 patenting initiatives, 7 grassroots scientific research topics and many scientific works, helping to save agencies over 100 million VND/year, contributing to improving the quality of expertise in people's health care.
With this title, I feel I have a greater responsibility in spreading good values, a spirit of dedication to serve as a medical worker and a union official, said Mr. Thanh.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City - emphasized that emulation is a strategic policy of the Party, a regular and continuous task of all levels, sectors, of each agency and unit. 19 enterprises and 31 outstanding union members who have been honored and rewarded need to continue to promote their capacity, intelligence, actively participate and be the core of patriotic emulation movements at agencies, localities and units, so that good practices and good experiences can quickly spread widely in the community.
"The emulation, reward work and patriotic emulation movement of the city in the coming time will certainly have many new successes, creating important new motivation, contributing to the Party Committee, government and people to successfully achieve the goals of socio-economic development, national defense - security, building a strong political system", said the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.
