Mr. Dao Manh Kien - Chairman of the Vietnam Airlines Corporation Trade Union said - The Trade Union is not only a representative to protect the rights of employees but also a partner accompanying employers in building a positive and sustainable working environment.
Accordingly, in 2024, the Corporation has implemented programs and policies to ensure benefits for employees.
The Corporation's Trade Union coordinated with the professional staff to advise the Corporation's leaders to purchase voluntary health insurance for employees at a fee of VND 3,075,000/person/year and expand the right for employees' relatives to purchase health insurance at a preferential rate of VND 4,990,000/person/year; participated with the professional staff to amend the fare exemption and reduction regulations in a direction that is more beneficial to employees (expanding the scope of relatives, increasing the number of tickets, tickets with confirmed seats, ...).
Last year, the Corporation's Trade Union coordinated with professionals to support 152 employees and their relatives with serious illnesses and difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 1.6 billion VND;
170 cases of employees/relatives of employees affected by storm No. 3 and floods with the amount of 375 million VND from the Corporation's Charity Fund; visiting and visiting retired employees with the total amount of 204 million VND;
Organize visits and present gifts to relatives of martyrs, revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and give gifts to wounded soldiers at the Center for Nurturing People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution with a total amount of 317 million VND;
Support people in provinces and cities affected by natural disasters, storms and floods in Yen Bai province and people affected by natural disasters and floods through the Vietnam Fatherland Front with a total amount of 400 million VND;
Supported the construction of charity houses in Yen Chau district, Son La province with the amount of 100 million VND; transported free of charge more than 200 tons of relief goods for people in provinces and cities affected by storm No. 3 Yagi (equivalent to 2.6 billion VND).
In coordination with the Party Committee of the Corporation, the General Director called on and mobilized cadres, union members, and employees to donate and support at least 1 day's salary to support employees/relatives of employees as well as people in the Northern provinces affected by storm No. 3 with a total amount of 5.2 billion VND.
In addition, the Aviation Trade Union also organized the admission of new union members; gave gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; and gave birthday gifts to union members in July and August.
As of December 15, 2024, the Vietnam Airlines Corporation Trade Union includes 25 grassroots trade unions and 2 grassroots trade unions, with a total of 21,045 union members/21,096 employees of the entire Corporation, reaching a rate of 99.8%.
