Kien Giang - On the afternoon of April 3, the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor organized a delegation to visit, encourage and provide support to the families of union members and workers whose houses were unfortunately burned in Dai Oc Quarter, Rach Gia City.

The delegation was led by Ms. Trang Thi Bich Ngoc - Vice President of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - Head of the delegation, Ms. Tran Thi Khanh Linh - President of the Chau Thanh District Federation of Labor, Ms. Ton Nu My Hanh - President of the Hwaseung Rach Gia Company Limited Trade Union.

At each place visited, Vice President of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Trang Thi Bich Ngoc sent her condolences, encouraged the spirit of union members, workers and their families and presented each household with 2 million VND in support.

The fire that occurred on the afternoon of February 2 on Nguyen Thi Dinh Street, Dai Oc Quarter, Vinh Hiep Ward, Rach Gia City completely burned down 5 houses. Including the house of union member Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Trade Union of Hwaseung Rach Gia Company Limited and workers To Thanh Tinh - Trade Union of Thanh Phat Company Limited under the Chau Thanh District Labor Federation.

Ms. Ton Nu My Hanh - Chairman of the Trade Union of Hwaseung Rach Gia Company Limited - said: Union member Nguyen Thi Thu Huong works in the cutting department, her husband works for hire at a gas store, and has 2 young children. The house and assets were completely burned down, the total damage to the house is estimated at about 300 million VND, and he currently has to live at a relative's house.

"Sharing, encouraging, and helping union member Huong's family overcome difficulties, the Company's Board of Directors has initially supported 10 million VND. The grassroots union has mobilized union members and workers to contribute support to union members, the mobilization period is from April 3 to 8", Ms. Hanh added.

Ms. Tran Thi Khanh Linh - Chairwoman of Chau Thanh District Labor Federation - said: Mr. To Thanh Tinh is a worker at the Thanh Phat Company Limited Trade Union under Chau Thanh District Labor Federation. Mr. Tinh's family situation is difficult, his wife is unemployed, his two children are still young, and his mother sells lottery tickets. In the fire, his family's house and belongings were completely burned down, with a total damage of over 200 million VND.

Mr. Tinh shared: "The old house is degraded, the storm season is coming, so my family has renovated the house to live in. Not only was he happy that the newly renovated house was completely burned down by the fire. Life has been difficult but now it is even more difficult. The family is currently staying at an acquaintance's house."

To support and encourage workers to overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives, the Director of Thanh Phat Company has supported 20 million VND, union members and workers of the company supported over 30 million VND.
