Recently, trade unions at all levels of Tra Vinh province have created conditions for informal workers to participate, protect their rights and improve their lives, such as the Textile and Garment Union of Duc My commune, Cang Long district.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan - President of the Duc My Commune Textile and Garment Trade Union - said that after 5 months of operation, the number of union members has increased from 42 to 60 people, thanks to active propaganda and support for product output.
According to Ms. Xuan, storing a few hundred raw material sleeves to maintain continuous production is an important factor in the production of union products. "In addition to supporting output for products from lat trees, the union hopes to receive capital support from the Provincial and District Labor Federations to buy raw materials for reserve use," Ms. Xuan added.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Pham Lam Tung - Chairman of the Tra Vinh Student Technology Vehicle Union - said that one of the important goals of the unions is to protect the legitimate rights of workers, helping them better understand the rights they enjoy.
Mr. Tung said that in the past time, he has received a lot of support from the Tra Vinh City Labor Federation on organization work as well as information that workers are guaranteed when participating in the union. "In the coming time, the union hopes to continue to receive timely attention, support and policies and benefits to attract more workers," Mr. Tung added.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chung - President of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in 2024, a number of new unions were established in Duyen Hai, Cang Long, Chau Thanh districts, Tra Vinh city... marking an important step forward in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
According to Ms. Chung, supporting informal workers, especially union members in trade unions, through close coordination with departments, unions, and local governments is an important factor in helping to ensure the rights and improve the quality of life for workers.

Coordinate with local departments and unions to help union members access loans when needed. The unions are implementing capital turnover, so that workers have capital to serve their lives.
"Supporting informal workers to join trade unions helps protect their legitimate rights, improve working conditions and ensure social welfare. Trade unions create collective strength to improve labor policies, while better protecting informal labor," said the Chairman of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor.
