Tra Vinh Trade Union admitted more than 770 new union members in the first quarter

HOÀNG LỘC |

Tra Vinh - In the first quarter of 2025, trade unions at all levels in the province will develop more than 770 new union members, and establish many grassroots trade unions.

On May 17, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Chung - President of the Tra Vinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that in the first quarter of 2025, the unit mobilized the establishment of 3 grassroots trade unions (CDCS) and admitted 775 union members.

Currently, the Provincial Federation of Labor manages 921 grassroots trade unions (including 779 public service administrative units, communes, wards, towns and 142 enterprises, trade unions, cooperatives, credit funds, and non-public services) with 63,466 union members out of a total of 65,684 workers, civil servants, and laborers.

According to Ms. Chung, since the beginning of the year, Trade Unions at all levels in the province have proactively implemented field surveys, guiding businesses to implement processes and procedures for admitting union members and establishing grassroots trade unions.

The Provincial Federation of Labor will also focus resources on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions, especially in non-state enterprises and the informal labor sector.

In the coming time, the provincial Labor Federation will continue to actively remove difficulties and propagate about the role and position of the Trade Union organization so that businesses and employees understand, thereby contributing to the development of union members and expanding the grassroots college network, especially in the month of workers in 2025.

"Strive to increase the number of union members by 7,500, including at least 500 union members in the informal sector. Strive to establish grassroots unions in enterprises with 5 employees (of which 100% of grassroots unions in enterprises with 20 or more employees will be established). Strive to establish at least 10 grassroots unions," Ms. Chung added.
