Near Tet, workers are collectively suspended from work

The Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation has just intervened to support workers affected by work stoppages that occurred at S.L.F Company (Bau Xeo Industrial Park, Trang Bom commune, Dong Nai province) with a number of about 1,450 workers.

In the petition, the collective of employees working at S.L.F Company sent to the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation said that they faced many difficulties in life due to having to stop working for many days but their rights were not guaranteed.

Worker Le Anh (name changed) shared: As a worker far from home, hoping for the upcoming Tet reunion with his family, but currently he himself and many other workers are suspended from work, salaries are not guaranteed, causing many difficulties in life due to having to worry about food and tuition fees for children as well as having to worry about daily expenses of the family.

Immediately after receiving the case, the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation chaired and coordinated with functional agencies of Dong Nai province and Trang Bom commune to work directly with the company, exchange and receive questions and grievances from workers.

At the meeting, the company representative said that due to difficulties, the company agreed with employees to take unpaid leave, but employees did not agree. The company agreed to pay 50% of the regional minimum wage, but the company has not notified employees.

The working delegation requested the company to comply with the provisions of law in Clause 3, Article 99, Labor Code and at the same time, terminate the transfer of employees not under the signed labor contract.

After working with the working group, the business representative committed to strictly comply with the provisions of law in Clause 3, Article 99, Labor Code - paying salaries for the first 14 days of suspension according to regulations and committed not to transfer the employee's job position (not to transfer the employee compared to the signed labor contract).

After that, S.L.F Company announced that it would pay the regional minimum wage for employees during non-salary holidays, in December 2025, January 2026 and February 2026 at 4,969,000 VND and 5,310,000 VND.

Workers thank the trade union

Immediately after Dong Nai Trade Union and Dong Nai functional agencies intervened to resolve and ensure rights, workers wrote letters of thanks to the trade union.

Ms. Thu Phuong (name changed) - a worker at S.L.F Company said: "Thanks to the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation's involvement, we have helped workers who have received severance pay. All workers thank the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation".

Mr. Nguyen Huu Dai - Member of the Standing Committee - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks - Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation - who chaired the working session with the company representative on the workers' petition for help, said: After working with the company representative, the inter-sectoral working group will continue to wait from morning to afternoon (January 15) for the company to issue a notice to all workers about the severance pay being ensured in accordance with the law, the estimated amount of money the workers received is more than 4 billion VND.

Also according to Mr. Dai, in the face of the difficulties of workers, the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation has proposed to support and allocate 100 gifts (worth 1 million VND/gift) to union members and workers who have to take many days or long days off work at S.L.F company, so that workers can overcome the current difficult period, especially the time when the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 is approaching.
