The total number of workers, civil servants and laborers in Binh Thuan is 79,793 people/76,806 union members. Since the beginning of 2024, the jobs, salaries, material and spiritual lives of workers, civil servants and laborers have improved. In addition to job stability, many workers and laborers want to have housing at preferential prices for workers.
As well as the expectation of social housing projects for workers in industrial zones, which can be bought or rented at low prices, electricity and water are calculated at preferential prices. Some workers also said that workers from many localities in and outside the province who come to work in industrial zones have difficulty with housing, many families have to rent houses at quite high prices, so housing is the biggest concern for themselves and their families.
Responding to the issue of social housing for workers in industrial parks, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction said that this issue is related to the Trade Union Institutional Area that the Provincial People's Committee agreed to let the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor invest in with an area of about 3.45 hectares in Ham Kiem 2 Industrial Park. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has directed the Binh Thuan Provincial Labor Federation to establish an investment project in this area. Currently, the Binh Thuan Provincial Labor Federation is carrying out procedures to complete it.
“In terms of available land area, we only need to complete legal procedures and investment capital to start construction,” Mr. Toan emphasized.
Sharing more about the issue of social housing in Binh Thuan, the leader of this Department also said that Binh Thuan province has implemented many programs and issued many policies on housing, housing for low-income people, and for workers in industrial parks. Up to now, there are 5 social housing projects approved for investment by Binh Thuan province and some projects have been implemented, some projects have been put into use.
Social housing for workers is a legitimate desire of workers. When there is housing with preferential policies, workers can settle down and work with peace of mind.
