Exceeded target in just 10 months
Dak Nong is a mountainous province, facing many difficulties in calling for and attracting investment. In Dak Nong province, the number of enterprises is not large, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises in production and business...
The jobs of workers in some enterprises are unstable and seasonal, leading to a lack of resources for developing union members and establishing grassroots unions...
Mr. Doan Van Su, Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial Labor Federation, said that with the determination to do whatever is difficult, in just 10 months, the unit has established 23 grassroots unions and 6 grassroots trade unions out of 167 surveyed enterprises.
Thanks to that, the unit achieved 200% of the set target, recruited 1,338 more members and achieved 111.5% of the target assigned by superiors.
"Compared to the national trade union system, the results of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions of Dak Nong Provincial Labor Federation are still quite modest. However, compared to the actual situation of the province, this is a proud result" - Mr. Su shared.
To achieve this result, the Standing Committee of the Dak Nong Provincial Labor Federation identified difficulties to find solutions. Trade unions at all levels knocked on the doors of each enterprise and each worker to grasp the employment situation.
Through this, the union shares and accompanies businesses, supporting workers when participating in the union organization. According to the Dak Nong Provincial Federation of Labor, in just 10 months of 2024, the unit has achieved and exceeded 16/16 targets.
These are propaganda work, women's work, protecting the rights of union members and workers, financial work, inspection, supervision...
Experience in developing union members
According to Mr. Su, the unit's experience is to coordinate with agencies such as: Provincial Police, Provincial Tax Department, Social Insurance, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs... in surveying, developing union members, and establishing grassroots unions.
Trade unions at all levels have mobilized all their strength and implemented many synchronous solutions such as propaganda, advocacy, persuasion, launching and organizing patriotic emulation movements.
Trade unions at all levels also increase care for workers so that employers realize that having a trade union in the enterprise is to protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
Through these activities, workers will learn about trade unions and the benefits of joining trade unions.
In the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Dak Nong Provincial Federation of Labor determined that developing union members and establishing grassroots unions are key tasks to prioritize implementation.
To do this, trade unions at all levels must make workers see the need to join trade unions; and employers must see the need to have trade unions in their businesses.
For union officials, it is necessary to improve their sense of responsibility, working capacity, and enthusiasm for union work; take advantage of every opportunity to mobilize and persuade business owners to establish union organizations.
In the process of implementing tasks, it is necessary to diversify approaches, persistently propagate and mobilize workers to participate in trade unions through specific measures.
Continuously innovate the content and methods of operation, improve the quality and efficiency of the trade union organization. In particular, focus on doing a good job of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.
Make a distinction between union members who participate in grassroots unions and workers who do not participate in union organizations...
Recognizing the achievements of the Dak Nong Provincial Federation of Labor, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has decided to award a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in 2024.
