Clause 5.2 Section 5 of Conclusion 83-KL/TW in 2024 stipulates:
The Politburo requested the Central Economic Commission to preside over the preliminary review of the implementation of Resolution 27-NQ/TW in 2018, in which it will coordinate with the Party Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs and relevant ministries, branches and sectors to study and evaluate the suitability and feasibility and propose the implementation of 5 new salary scales of the public sector for submission to the Central Committee for consideration after 2026 when the Politburo promulgates and implements the system of Job Position Lists in the political system.
Thus, salary reform for civil servants, public employees and armed forces may take place after 2026.
The basic salary applied from January 1, 1995 is 120,000 VND/month. After many increases in the basic salary, from July 1, 2024, the basic salary is 2,340,000 VND/month.
In 2025, whether to increase the basic salary of all cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces or not depends on the country's economy, specifically, whether it is suitable for the State budget capacity, consumer price index and economic growth rate of the country.
The Government adjusts the new basic salary after reporting to the National Assembly for consideration and decision.
