At the meeting, Mr. Le Minh Hung - Chairman of the Confederation of Labor of Tien Giang province - said that currently, in Tien Giang province there are 137,762 trade union members/139,045 labor workers. In the first 7 months of 2024, trade unions at all levels have established 29 grassroots trade unions and unions, developing 12,626 new union members.
According to Mr. Hung, to achieve the goal of developing trade union members and establishing new grassroots trade unions, the Confederation of Labor of Tien Giang province has established a Steering Committee for union member development and establishment of grassroots trade unions.
The Steering Committee will help the Standing Committee of the Labor Confederation of Tien Giang province develop both term and annual implementation plans; Urge and support trade unions at all levels in the area in carrying out the above tasks. At the same time, the Labor Confederation of Tien Giang province will advise the Tien Giang Provincial Party Committee to direct Party committees at all levels to strengthen leadership in developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions.
“In addition, the Labor Confederation of Tien Giang province also organizes training on communication skills among union officials. For district-level Labor Confederations, equivalent in the area, professional training for grassroots trade union officials is organized. Through training sessions, we aim to equip and update new knowledge for union officials.
