Youme Law Firm LLC said that from March 1, 2025, police officers holding the rank of captain will officially apply the new salary table, according to the resolution approved by the National Assembly.
Accordingly, the salary of police captains will be calculated based on the new basic salary, multiplied by the corresponding coefficient.
Currently, the salary coefficient of police captains ranges from 6.38 to 7.06, depending on seniority and position.
If the captain has a coefficient of 6.38, he will receive a basic salary of about 14.92 million VND/month (2.34 million VND x 6.38). Compared to the old basic salary of 1.8 million VND/month (equivalent to 11.48 million VND), from March 2025, the captain will receive an increase of more than 3.44 million VND/month. In addition, there are regional allowances, seniority allowances, special support packages, etc.
In addition, the basic salary of VND 2.34 million/month will be applied synchronously from March 1, 2025, replacing the VND 1.8 million that has been maintained since 2019. This means that not only captains but also other levels in the public security sector, from major to lieutenant colonel, will receive a significant salary increase. This is the first adjustment to the basic salary in more than 5 years, marking the State's efforts to ensure the lives of security forces.
With the new salary table, the police force in particular and cadres and civil servants in general expect to have more resources to work with peace of mind and contribute to society.
