Pursuant to Article 2 of Decree 176/2025/ND-CP, the subjects and conditions for receiving social pension benefits as prescribed in Article 21 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 are as follows:
(1) Vietnamese citizens are entitled to social pension benefits when they meet the following conditions:
(i) From 75 years old and above;
(ii) Not receiving monthly pension or social insurance benefits; or receiving monthly pension or social insurance benefits lower than the pension benefits prescribed in this Decree;
(iii) Having a written request to receive social pension benefits.
(2) Vietnamese citizens aged 70 to under 75 who are poor or near-poor households as prescribed by the Government and meet the conditions specified in (ii) and (iii).
