On May 10, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) coordinated with the City Red Cross Society and the Hematology - Blood Transfusion Hospital to organize the 2025 Union Member Red Day with the message "Donate blood to save your life and mine".
This is an activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day and respond to Workers' Month associated with the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health in 2025.
Speaking at the festival, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Labor Federation of Can Tho City Huynh Thi Hien informed that this is the second time the City Labor Federation has coordinated with the Red Cross and Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital to organize activities. Voluntary blood donation is not only a noble gesture, showing the responsibility of individuals to society and community but also bringing health benefits to blood donors.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Labor Federation called on all collectives and individuals to actively respond and register to donate blood to save lives. At the same time, I hope that the noble hearts participating in the program will continue to uphold the spirit of mutual love and volunteer for the community among union members, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.
The 2025 Trade Union Red Day attracted nearly 1,000 union members, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the city to participate in blood donation. As a result, the program received over 600 units of blood.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 20 gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; presented over 2,000 gifts to union members, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers participating in voluntary blood donation. The total value of the gifts is over 290 million VND.
