Nearly 300 union officials trained in dispute handling skills

Before a number of collective work stoppages in early March 2025, the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor directly had a dialogue with workers, creating sympathy between workers and enterprises, aiming to stabilize production.

Accompanying workers to return to work

On the morning of March 7, many workers at Amara Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd. (Co Le town, Truc Ninh district, Nam Dinh province) stopped working collectively. Workers working at this company hope to receive a basic salary increase; increased seniority pay, diligence, fuel; increased meal allowances and some other working conditions.

After listening to the workers' opinions and the participation of the trade union, the company's leaders and the workers had harmonious agreements of interests between the two sides.

Ms. Phan Thi Thu Trang - Vice President of the Labor Federation of Truc Ninh District (Nam Dinh Province) - said that as soon as the dispute occurred and the collective work of workers of Amara Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd. was stopped, trade unions at all levels proactively and promptly approached and were present to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers.

It is known that Amara Shoes Vietnam Co., Ltd. has about 11,000 workers. The company's Trade Union representative informed that after having harmonious agreements on interests between the two sides, the company's employees have returned to normal work. By March 17, workers had gone to work stably, shift meals had increased from 20,000 VND/meal to 25,000 VND/meal.

Improving skills in collective work stoppage resolution

In order to equip union officials with knowledge about labor relations and skills to respond to and prevent collective work stoppages and strikes that are not in accordance with legal regulations, the Standing Committee of the Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor has organized 2 professional training courses on skills and methods for nearly 300 grassroots union officials, union members and workers.

At the training courses at Viet Power Company Limited (Hai Hau District) and Nice Power Company Limited (Giao Thuy District), participants had frank exchanges, giving opinions to share views from the actual situation. In particular, it emphasizes the analysis of the causes of collective work stoppages from a multidimensional and objective perspective.

Mr. Ngo Chi Thuc - Vice Chairman of Nam Dinh Provincial Federation of Labor - said that improving skills in participating in preventing and resolving collective work stoppages and strikes that do not comply with legal regulations is a key task of the Trade Union organization.

In the coming time, in order to aim to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises, grassroots union officials play a very important role in propagating and mobilizing, grasping psychology, listening and sharing difficulties with workers. At the same time, it is necessary to be vigilant against untrue and distorted information on social networking sites; alert to exploiting and receiving information from official sources; avoid being agitated by bad guys, luring them to stop work, causing disorder and insecurity, affecting work quality.
