According to Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, after 15 years of implementing the Resolution, with the strong leadership and direction of the Party, the participation of organizations in the socio-political organization system, including the important role of trade unions, many results have been achieved.
The working class has grown in quantity and quality. The attention of Party committees at all levels in leading the working class with specific solutions and measures, from perfecting legal policies to improving the living standards, qualifications and awareness of the working class, leading the strengthening of the alliance between the working class, farmers and intellectuals has been clearly demonstrated.
"The Vietnamese working class is increasingly contributing to the country's development. We are proud of Vietnamese shipments going everywhere, including the sweat and effort of workers," said Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu.
According to the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the past 15 years have also been a period of affirming the active participation of the Trade Union in building the working class.
In addition, the conference also looked at the building of the working class in the new context, thereby having more theoretical basis to recommend to the Party and State to soon summarize the resolution to issue a new resolution, meeting the requirements of building workers in the new context.
According to the draft report of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the process of industrialization, modernization, and international integration in recent years has created many new occupations, attracted a certain labor force, and led to the strong development of the working class. The working class of our country continues to fluctuate in number and is diverse in structure and composition.
The workforce continues to play an important role as the main productive force, directly creating the majority of material wealth for society. Although accounting for only about 14% of the population and 27% of the workforce, the workforce, together with employers, has directly contributed over 50.34% of the country's added value.
At the conference, delegates presented papers on the role of the Trade Union in building a strong working class; and proposed a number of solutions to continue building a strong working class in the coming time.
