Zero-cost stalls bring joy to workers

On the evening of October 4, at Than Nhan Trung Square, Bich Dong Ward (Viet Yen Town), the Provincial Labor Federation (LDB) coordinated with the Steering Committee of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" and the People's Committee of Viet Yen Town to organize the opening ceremony of the 8th "Booth for workers" program.

Thousands of workers in the province's industrial parks visited the booths.

In his opening speech, Mr. Le Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation emphasized that the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" launched by the Politburo in 2009 has achieved positive results, contributing to raising awareness and positive changes in consumption and shopping among the people, promoting socio-economic development.

The members of the Steering Committee proposed many solutions and creative ways to help local businesses and cooperatives start up, consume products conveniently, and stabilize prices. Many products have become the pride of Bac Giang people, truly conquering domestic consumers and exporting to several countries around the world such as: Luc Ngan litchi; Yen The hill chicken; Ban Ven tea; Chu noodles; Thai Son golden flower sticky rice...

To date, Bac Giang province has 334 OCOP products, ranking first among provinces in terms of the number of OCOP products. The rate of Vietnamese goods displayed, circulated and consumed in trade centers and supermarkets in the province is over 95%.

At this program, on behalf of the organizing committee, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor requested organizations, individuals, levels, sectors, and localities to promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, mobilize union members, association members, civil servants, public employees, workers, and people of all walks of life to actively respond and effectively implement the campaign in the new situation. Thereby, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals set forth by the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party and the 19th Provincial Party Congress.

The program "Stock for workers" taking place for 3 days (October 4-6) is a specific activity to continue to effectively implement this content, associated with the effective implementation of the campaign, contributing to sharing difficulties, encouraging union members and workers. At the event, workers have the opportunity to shop at preferential prices (discount from 10% or more) at 70 booths of 35 enterprises with thousands of essential products and services such as: Garments, food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, electronics, telecommunications, school supplies... In addition, there are 23 units and enterprises sponsoring the "0 dong" booth with many gifts for workers, totaling more than 300 million VND.

In addition to discount sales activities, union members and workers can also participate in many exciting and healthy cultural and sports activities such as: "Flower arrangement art" contest; folk dance and sports contest; workers' singing contest, tug of war; "Sing for workers, listen to workers sing" program; legal advice; lucky draw. On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor commended 95 typical enterprises for workers and 5 partners who have well implemented cooperation agreements in the welfare program for union members; allocated funds from the "Union Shelter" Fund to support 10 union members to renovate their houses; and presented gifts to 140 workers in difficult circumstances.

Implementing the key and breakthrough policies and tasks of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the Welfare Program for union members, from 2017 to present, the Provincial Confederation of Labor has signed cooperation agreements with 52 partners inside and outside the province to implement discount sales for union members and workers. As a result, more than 300,000 union members and workers have been able to buy goods and services at preferential prices, with a total benefit value of nearly 20 billion VND.
