The close relationship between revolutionary journalism and the business community
The forum was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper; Mr. Vu Quang Hung, member of the City Party Committee, Head of the Management Board of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones of Da Nang; Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha, Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation.
At the forum, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien - Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper - sent his congratulations to entrepreneurs on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day on October 13 and mentioned the very important connection between the revolutionary press and the business community and local leaders. This is a mutually cooperative relationship. The revolutionary press not only helps businesses and localities promote their products and build their brands, but also plays an important role in providing information, protecting reputation and guiding public opinion.
Not only that, in times of crisis, revolutionary press plays an important role in helping businesses and localities handle media crises, respond to accurate information and protect brands from false information. “Lao Dong Newspaper, with its history of more than 95 years, has been, is and will always be ready to accompany the business community; accompany to support business development and also for the betterment of workers' lives” - Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien committed.
Trade unions always accompany businesses
Speaking at the forum, Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha - Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - said that the Da Nang City Labor Federation is currently managing 1,800 grassroots unions with more than 120,000 union members in all different industries and occupations.
According to Ms. Ha, one of the main activities of the Trade Union is to take care of and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers. However, another major activity, which is equally important, is to accompany businesses to launch emulation movements, mobilize workers to share difficulties with businesses, comply with regulations and policies... to ensure harmonious labor relations. At the same time, when businesses are doing well, the Trade Union will also support workers to negotiate to improve policies in the Collective Labor Agreement. "The Trade Union always accompanies businesses, not opposes or confronts businesses," Ms. Ha affirmed.
At the forum, Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha also shared with businesses a thought related to the fact that in the future, there will be another organization representing businesses, in addition to the Vietnam Trade Union organization, which is allowed to be established in businesses.
Objectively, when more than one worker representative organization is established in a business, there will be competition. And this is a good thing when the quality of care for workers is improved.
Priority to attract strategic investors
At the forum “Connecting Enterprises - 2024”, Mr. Tran Van Ty - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones introduced to businesses and investors the functions and tasks of the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones. Especially the Free Trade Zone established under Resolution 136 of the National Assembly.
Mr. Ty said: The National Assembly has issued Resolution 136 on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang City. Accordingly, the National Assembly agreed to allow Da Nang to pilot a number of specific mechanisms and policies on financial management, state budget; investment management; planning management, urban, natural resources, environment; priority industries and professions to attract strategic investors to the city.
Da Nang has also piloted a number of specific mechanisms and policies on investment in the development of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, science and technology management and innovation. The most notable of these is the National Assembly's agreement to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone associated with Lien Chieu seaport, with the goal of attracting investment, finance, trade, tourism and high-quality services.
“Through this forum “Connecting Businesses - 2024”, the Management Board hopes to receive the attention and support of businesses in the coming time to successfully carry out political tasks together, developing the socio-economic development of Da Nang City. At the same time, the Management Board hopes to continue to receive more support to continue organizing the annual event in the following years” - Mr. Tran Van Ty said.
At the forum, business owners discussed and exchanged on many practical topics related to the city's economic development as well as with local workers such as: Sharing experiences and needs for connecting service supply; experiences in attracting investment, supplying factory needs. The meaning and purpose of connecting businesses in production and business activities, aiming at connecting supply - demand, sharing and using each other's services and products; Industrial park infrastructure and housing solutions for workers...
* At the forum, one of the hot issues that many businesses proposed to the city leaders and related departments and branches was that they have had difficulty recruiting quality workers in recent times. Mr. Hiroyuki Okuda - General Director of Murata Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. (specializing in manufacturing electronic components, with a factory at Lot A1, Road No. 2, Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu, Da Nang) - said that one of the difficulties his business is facing is not being able to recruit unskilled workers in the context of high production demand.
