360 grassroots trade unions under industry unions, departments, blocks, Ho Chi Minh City Civil Servants' Trade Unions, Ho Chi Minh City Public Service and Commercial Enterprises Trade Unions with about 141,000 union members were transferred to district and county labor federations, Thu Duc City Labor Federation, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Export Processing and Industrial Zones Trade Unions, Ho Chi Minh City Party Agencies Trade Unions and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Unions at the conference organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation on March 14.
Previously, on the afternoon of March 12, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation held a conference to announce the decisions to dissolve 12 trade unions of sectors, departments, blocks, the Ho Chi Minh City Civil Servants' Trade Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Public Service and Commercial Enterprises Trade Union, and at the same time announced the decision to establish the Ho Chi Minh City Party Agencies' Trade Union and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Trade Union.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Kim Thuy - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that the transfer and reception of grassroots unions and union members under the grassroots unions is a step in the process of streamlining the organizational apparatus of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union in the spirit of Conclusion No. 121-KL/TW of the 13th Party Central Committee on the Summary of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee "On a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently", led and directed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Ms. Thuy suggested that the direct superior trade unions at the grassroots level urgently arrange staff, creating favorable conditions for the grassroots trade unions to be transferred and received to quickly integrate into the common activities of the new units, ensuring consistency, no disruption, and stagnation of the grassroots trade union activities.
Transfer and receipt activities must comply with legal regulations and instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, ensuring that the transfer and receipt of grassroots trade unions continue to perform well their functions and tasks in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers and taking good care of union members and workers.
Dicuments at the grassroots level, grassroots trade unions must closely follow the provisions of the law on trade union organization, the Charter of Vietnam Trade Union and the instructions of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor as command guards for all their activities. In the immediate future, it is necessary to do a good job of taking care of union members and workers during Workers' Month 2025," said Ms. Thuy.
