Leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor attended the opening ceremony of the Civil Servants Football Tournament

Nghe An - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh attended and delivered the opening speech of the Regional Qualifying Round 2, Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2024.

On the morning of October 11, in Vinh city (Nghe An), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre Newspaper jointly organized the opening ceremony of the Regional Qualifying Round 2, Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament 2024.

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh, representatives of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, provincial leaders and departments, branches, and Nghe An Provincial Confederation of Labor attended the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh highly appreciated and thanked Tuoi Tre Newspaper and the Vietnam Football Federation for coordinating with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to organize a national grassroots football tournament for workers, civil servants, and laborers.

“Along with taking care of material life, cultural, artistic and sports activities are organized more. Union members, workers, civil servants and laborers have the opportunity to participate in cultural activities and sports training. The quality of the movement is improved, the spiritual life of workers is gradually improved” – Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor affirmed.

According to Mr. Phan Van Anh, within the framework of the football tournament, the Organizing Committee also organized many practical activities to care for union members and workers such as health check-ups, consultations, free medicine, gifts, lucky draws, and entertainment games.

“With the efforts of the coordinating units, I believe that the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament will truly become a useful and prestigious playground, a day of solidarity for workers, encouraging the spirit, motivating workers, civil servants and laborers to actively practice to improve their physical fitness, thereby improving labor productivity, promoting the development of units and enterprises, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality and the country.

Through this, I hope that Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, and enterprises will continue to accompany the Trade Union to take better care of the material and spiritual life of workers, civil servants, and laborers so that workers can feel secure in their attachment to the enterprise, attached to the locality where they work, and work with a sense of responsibility, creativity, high productivity, and good quality" - said the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The 2024 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is held to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.

The tournament consists of 2 rounds. The regional qualifying round is held from September to October 2024 in 4 regions: Region 1 - Bac Ninh, Region 2 - Nghe An, Region 3 - Binh Duong and Region 4 - Ho Chi Minh City. The 4 best teams in the 4 regional qualifying rounds will qualify for the National Finals, taking place in early November in Hanoi.

The qualifying round of region 2 - Nghe An will compete for 3 consecutive days from October 11 to 13 at the Vietnam - Korea football field, gathering 11 teams including: Nghe An Trade Union, People's Police Trade Union, Oil and Gas Trade Union, Quang Ngai Trade Union, Quang Nam Trade Union, Phu Yen Trade Union, Binh Dinh Trade Union, Gia Lai Trade Union, Khanh Hoa Trade Union, Quang Nam Water Supply and Drainage, Nam Dinh Trade Union.
