Speaking at the opening of the conference, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation emphasized that this conference is an important preparation step for the 1st Can Tho City Trade Union Congress. This is also an opportunity to demonstrate the democratic spirit, collective intelligence and responsibility of each individual in the Executive Committee, union officials, union members and workers in the city.
Regarding the content and draft documents, the Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation suggested that the members of the Executive Committee focus their intelligence and apply practical experience to contribute to the draft documents of the congress.
Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai also noted that the careful study of the targets of the new term and the breakthrough orientations is to help the Executive Committee prepare a political report in an elaborate and concise manner, meeting the development requirements in the next term.
According to the report of the Executive Committee of the Can Tho City Labor Federation for the period 2023 - 2025 submitted to the 1st Congress of the City Labor Federation for the 2025 - 2030 term (draft), the 1st Congress of the Can Tho City Labor Union took place in the context that the city has just completed the merger of three provinces and cities. At the same time, the City Party Congress and the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels also have many major changes in personnel and organization...
In that context, the Can Tho City Trade Union Congress has a special significance, an important political event for the working class and the City Trade Union organization after the period of restructuring and perfecting the apparatus.
The Congress has the task of evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the 11th Trade Union Congress for the 2023-2028 term; determining the direction, goals and tasks of the labor movement and trade union activities in the next 5 years; giving comments on amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; reviewing the leadership and direction of the City Labor Federation Executive Committee for the 2023-2025 period; electing the Executive Committee of the City Labor Federation, term I, 2025 - 2030.
Accordingly, the report title is: Promoting the tradition of solidarity; Innovation in trade union organization and activities; Caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of union members and workers; Building a modern, creative and integrated team of workers in Can Tho City; Contributing to the construction of Can Tho to develop quickly and sustainably.
