Responding to the movement to build advanced new rural areas and the program to plant 1 billion new trees in the period of 2021 - 2025 launched by the Prime Minister, on the morning of November 13, on Hoa Binh Street (in Ward 1, Yen Ninh Town, Yen Khanh District), the Ninh Binh Provincial Federation of Labor organized the planting of nearly 100 Lagerstroemia trees.
Mr. Tran Kim Long - Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial Federation of Labor said that this is a type of purple-flowered Lagerstroemia with small leaves. The tree spreads shade by itself, requires little pruning, and if well cared for, it will bloom within a year.
This is a very typical precious tree of some regions in our country, attracting a large number of visitors when the flowers bloom. Each year, the tree blooms twice, each time from 20 to 30 days, the roots grow underground, not damaging the sidewalk and auxiliary works. The tree can be 10 - 20m high, woody trunk, diameter about 40 - 80cm, thin branches, small leaves, flowers are prominent purple, flowers bloom in clusters at the end of each branch, creating a purple flower strip from 20 - 30cm long.
Also according to Mr. Long, after more than 3 years of launching the tree planting movement in trade unions at all levels, up to now, trade unions at all levels in Ninh Binh province have coordinated with units and enterprises to mobilize various resources to plant nearly 17,000 new trees of all kinds with a total amount of nearly 4.5 billion VND.
The tree planting movement has become a regular activity of trade unions at all levels in Ninh Binh province.
Through tree planting activities, the Ninh Binh Provincial Federation of Labor wishes to contribute to the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to build new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and respond to the program of planting 1 billion new trees in the period of 2021 - 2025 launched by the Prime Minister.
