Joy in the boarding house
Late afternoon of December 19, Mr. Pham Quang Thanh - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor, together with leaders of the Hanoi Industrial and Export Processing Zones Trade Union and the SUMI - HANEL Wire System Company Limited Trade Union, visited the boarding house of two employees in difficult circumstances of the company. They are the family of Ms. Tran Thi Hien and the family of Ms. Vi Thi Huong.
Ms. Tran Thi Hien is from Nghe An, her husband is also a worker, from Bac Ninh. They have 2 children, both of whom are left with their grandparents in the countryside (the baby was recently brought to visit his parents for a few days). Ms. Hien herself has a kidney tumor, so the couple's income is used to raise the children, treat her, and cover all living expenses.
Ms. Vi Thi Huong, from Thanh Hoa, has 2 children, but one died at the age of 2 due to illness; the other 11-year-old child has a brain tumor and was recently hospitalized and brought back to the countryside to live with his grandparents. Ms. Huong's husband also works as a worker, but at a company quite far from the boarding house.
Presenting a gift bag and VND3 million to each family of two workers, Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation Pham Quang Thanh shared the difficulties and unfortunate circumstances of each person. The Chairman of the City Labor Confederation wished the two families a warm Lunar New Year holiday.
Receiving the attention of the Trade Union right in the rented house, Ms. Hien and Ms. Huong were very touched.
Ms. Hien said: “Thank you to the Union for bringing Tet early to our family. The Tet gift bags and the support money are already a joy. But for my husband and I, the special attention from the Union at all levels will help me personally be optimistic, continue to treat my illness, so that from there both of us can work hard in work and in life.”
Ms. Vi Thi Huong expressed her trust in the Trade Union organization, from the Company Trade Union, the Industrial and Export Processing Zone Trade Union to the Hanoi City Labor Federation. Because these days near Tet, the couple could not help but feel sad about their child's illness, the Union leaders' visit, giving gifts, and providing support also helped ease their worries a bit...
30 buses to take and 20 buses to pick up workers during Tet
Talking to the Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Federation, Mr. Masahiro Hashimura - General Director of SUMI - HANEL Wire System Co., Ltd. - said that the New Year bonus for the Company's staff and employees is 80% of the monthly salary. The Lunar New Year bonus is 140% of the monthly salary plus productivity bonus and a Tet gift bag worth 500,000 VND.
In addition, each employee in difficult circumstances is supported with 1 million VND. During Tet, the company arranges 30 buses to take employees home to celebrate Tet and 20 buses to pick up employees returning to work after Tet holiday. Notably, these buses are not only for the company's employees but also for their families if they have a need.
To ensure production progress (to compensate for the Tet holiday), the company has accelerated work progress and encouraged staff and workers to concentrate highly before Tet. Thus, workers' income has also increased and orders have been guaranteed.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Federation Pham Quang Thanh thanked and appreciated the fact that despite the difficulties, the company has paid attention and made plans early to take care of Tet for employees, including salary and Tet bonus so that employees can work with peace of mind.
