On December 28, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with the Phu My Town Labor Federation and the Industrial Parks Trade Union to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" in 2025 for union members and workers in the area.
The program will take place on December 28 and 29, with the participation of thousands of union members and workers across the province. During the program, the 0-dong booth presented 400 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; organized game booths to serve traditional Tet games; Food booths provided 1,400 free meals to union members and workers...
At the same time, 50 symbolic gifts were presented to union members in especially difficult circumstances; train and bus tickets were given to workers far from home to return home to celebrate a meaningful, cozy and reunited traditional Tet with their families...
Along with Tet Sum Vay, the Trade Union Tet Market program with more than 30 booths selling goods with discounts from 10-30% also takes place, with hundreds of essential goods and more than 5,000 products of all kinds serving union members and workers to shop during Tet.
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Truc Nguyen (a sanitation worker at Phu My) said that participating in activities organized by the Union helps workers have more joy at the end of the year, when participating in a series of activities of Tet Sum Vay.
In a very difficult situation where the whole family is renting a house, with income from a worker's salary, Ms. Nguyen (with a brain tumor) and her daughter (in grade 11, treated for congenital heart disease and spine) are undergoing major surgeries that affect their health. According to Ms. Nguyen, the support of the Union has helped the family ease their difficulties, giving them more conditions to prepare for a more complete Tet holiday with their relatives.
Or the case of Mr. Phan Truong Giang (living in a rented house, suffered a serious traffic accident with brain injury, single parent raising a young child); Ms. Kim Cuong (working as a janitor, suffering from thyroid cancer, raising a child in college)... and other difficult cases were also supported by the Union to have the conditions to celebrate Tet warmly and fully.
According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, trade unions at all levels have proactively coordinated with businesses to organize activities to take care of Tet for workers, ensuring the good implementation of the motto "All union members, workers, civil servants and laborers have Tet".
With that motto, the Provincial Federation of Labor has donated 2,650 gifts including cash and essential items, worth more than 3.63 billion VND to share, encourage and support people in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Le Van Hoa - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor said that after today, many trade unions at the grassroots level; grassroots trade unions with a large number of workers will continue to organize the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang", with hundreds of thousands of gifts continuing to be given to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
"Trade unions at all levels also visited and encouraged some cases of serious illness, work accidents...; visited and wished Tet to businesses facing difficulties in production and business, and paid attention to organizing spring and Tet activities for union members and workers who could not return to their hometowns, bearing the mark of the trade union organization," Mr. Hoa informed.
