On the morning of October 6, the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones, the Da Nang City Labor Federation, and Lao Dong Newspaper jointly organized a running race with the theme "Connecting Steps - 2024". The race attracted nearly 700 athletes who are union members and employees under the Da Nang City Labor Federation.
The "Connecting Steps - 2024" race is an activity in the "Connecting Enterprises - 2024" event series jointly organized by the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, Da Nang City Labor Federation, and Lao Dong Newspaper on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day, October 13.
This is the first time the race is held completely free of charge exclusively for workers, civil servants and employees in Da Nang City. This activity is organized to improve health, thereby creating a healthy and useful playground, contributing to promoting the movement of sports and physical training for workers, civil servants and employees. This is also a new "playground", creating a true connection between workers, civil servants, business owners, investors and management agencies in Da Nang.
At the end of the race, the Organizing Committee awarded 32 prizes including: 2 first prizes for men and women (2 distances of 10km and 5km); 4 second prizes for men and women; 6 third prizes for men and women and 20 consolation prizes for men and women. Of which, the first prize includes 2.5 million VND, cup/prize; second prize 2 million VND, cup/prize; third prize 1.5 million VND, cup/prize; consolation prize 1 million VND, flag/prize. Notably, at the award ceremony, the Da Nang City Labor Federation had a very meaningful activity when awarding 20 gifts to support workers with serious illnesses and reduced labor capacity due to accidents, with a total cost of 40 million VND.

“Connecting Run - 2024” is a free race for workers held for the first time in Da Nang, but the effect it brought exceeded the expectations of the organizers. Especially the excitement of the workers.
Even though the race is almost ready to take place, there are still many workers and laborers registering to participate.
Ms. Dang Thi Son - a member of the Education Trade Union of Da Nang City - said: "Due to my negligence, I was unable to register to participate in the "Connecting Steps - 2024" race.
However, on the day of the race, I was very excited and arrived at the venue at 5am to cheer for my teammates.” Ms. Son expressed her hope that in the following years, the race for workers and laborers will be organized on a larger scale so that all workers can participate.
Ms. Luyen - a member of the Dong A University Trade Union, Da Nang City - after completing her run, sent her thanks to the Organizing Committee for organizing a free race for union members and workers.
“If the race continues to be held next year, I will also register to participate. This race not only brings me excitement, but also motivates me to regularly exercise every day,” said Ms. Luyen.
According to Ms. Hai Anh from Thanh Khe District Union - one of the athletes participating in the race: "This is the first time I have participated in a race exclusively for union members and workers, so I am very excited. And this race did not disappoint us because it was so fun and meaningful. I hope that this race will be maintained annually to create more playgrounds for workers."
Mr. Vu Quang Hung - Head of the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones - shared: "We will promote this race to become an annual activity, promising to bring more joy to union members and workers in Da Nang in the coming time".
