Happy new job
After more than half a month of searching for a job from social networking sites to information posted by the Employment Service Center, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Trang (26 years old, Ninh Kieu district) also got a job in Can Tho city as a sales person. Ms. Trang said that the store agreed on a salary of about 6 million VND/month (including lunch and personal gas) to help her ease her worries about work near Tet.
“I quit my job in August this year because I was busy with family matters and the working environment was not suitable. I thought it would be difficult to find a job again because I heard that the economy was difficult. I was very happy when I went for an interview. Before that, I also had sales experience when I was in college, so I hope that the job will go smoothly,” said Ms. Trang.
The female worker added that she chose the sales job entirely because of her own strengths and not because she “randomly chose” in the context of a bustling recruitment market. She also did not regret quitting her old job because she did not receive a Tet bonus.
“Some people advised me to stay at my old company until after Tet and then quit to have a better life, but I think this is a “golden” opportunity for me to switch to a new job.
There are less than 2 months left until Lunar New Year 2025, I will work hard, save my salary and receive a small bonus. Hopefully this year's Tet will be warm" - Ms. Trang hopes.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh (An Giang province) was also accepted to work at An Giang Samho Company near Tet. Ms. Linh said: “With a lot of experience working at companies, I will work hard and expect stability until the end of the year. Hopefully the company's income and policies will be good, from there I will have money to take care of my family, especially my children who are at school age.”

Notes when working
According to a survey by reporters in the Mekong Delta region, to ensure production activities, companies have been applying many policies, including balancing recruitment and retaining talent.
Mr. Vu Hai Nam - Head of Planning and Human Resources Department of An Duong Seafood Frozen Factory (Can Tho) - said: "The company has introduced a recruitment allowance policy, diligence bonus... to encourage workers to work hard as well as attract local labor force".
Increased recruitment demand and preferential policies by businesses open the door to job opportunities for workers, but do not rule out the possibility that workers will feel confused and unable to choose a job that suits their abilities.
In her role as a job search companion for workers, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chung - Deputy Director of the Can Tho City Employment Service Center - said that workers need to cherish new job opportunities and be careful when looking for jobs or changing jobs.
