Workers worry about being replaced by modern technology

As modern machinery technologies and AI software are applied more and more in practice, workers are more worried about being replaced.

Mr. Pham Van Tuan (26 years old) - a fabric weaving and numbering worker in Thai Binh said that his work only exists in small and medium-sized companies. Major companies are already using machinery, so they are almost not recruiting workers in this position.

Mr. Tuan's work is mainly arranging fabric tightly and flatly so that the cutting machine is accurate. He also did another extra job of numbering the fabric pieces so that the tailor could recognize and use them. These two jobs now have many supporting machines to make it easier to do.

The male worker said that the company is still using people because the quantity of goods is not large, and the company's finances are limited. Large companies all use machines to save time and the efficiency is also much higher.

Thinking about the future, Mr. Tuan is worried that when the company develops and expands, it will also invest in equipment and machinery to serve the work. To avoid losing his job and being replaced by machines, Mr. Tuan said that he always had to make efforts and learn other jobs.

"Every day I told myself to do it quickly but still ensure efficiency to get a high salary and later keep the machinery running if the company cuts down on human resources. I also took the opportunity to learn other jobs such as sitting on a machinery to make Zinc, which is a breath to do many things, increasing my income" - Mr. Tuan shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (29 years old) - a content creator in Ha Dong district, Hanoi said that her current job is also being "threatened" by AI (artificial intelligence).

Previously, it took us a day to write scripts and 2 posts on the website, but now it only takes 1 hour to use AI and then edit them all, said Ms. Huong.

Also because AI can do many things, the company decided to cut 2 employees, only keeping Ms. Huong and 2 others. However, in the future, the female employee still felt worried. To keep her job for a long time, Ms. Huong said she had to do more acting work.

There are jobs that AI cannot do like humans, for example acting. Therefore, as soon as the company asked me to film the clips for communication, I did not hesitate to participate - Ms. Huong said.

According to the female employee, although acting is not easy and is often reminded, she has never been discouraged or lamented. Ms. Huong is worried that if she does not participate in other work, she will be fired because in the future, the work she is doing, AI can do it easily.

However, Ms. Huong said she will consider AI as an assistant to serve her work. "I will take advantage of AI to work quickly, effectively and do more work in the same time limit" - Ms. Huong said.
