Despite repeated promises, for many months, the leaders of Mai Linh Nha Trang Company Limited and Mai Linh Group have not yet fulfilled their commitment to pay wages and close social insurance (SI) books for union members and employees.

At the second dialogue session, the Group representative continued to commit to paying 4 debts to employees in the third quarter of 2025.

Father and son both have unpaid social insurance and wages by enterprises

On May 8, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) coordinated with relevant agencies to organize the settlement of complaints from the collective of employees at Mai Linh Nha Trang Company Limited (Mai Linh Nha Trang) for the second time. Mr. Phan Thanh Liem - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor chaired the meeting.

According to the Labor Federation of Khanh Hoa Province, in 2024, the collective of employees of Mai Linh Nha Trang Company has sent 3 complaints to the superior trade union directly on the grassroots level on salary and social insurance debt. The Standing Trade Union of Khanh Hoa Transportation has directed the grassroots trade union to coordinate to resolve the petitions of the employee, but the company's leaders still did not solve it.

On January 3, 2025, Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor chaired and coordinated with relevant departments, branches and employees to work with Director Mai Linh Nha Trang to resolve a collective complaint against employees over the payment of nearly VND 2 billion in unpaid wages and nearly VND 6 billion in social insurance. And also owe employees deposit money and vehicle documents. At the meeting, the Company's representative pledged to complete the payment to employees in the first quarter of 2025.

Up to now, the commitment has expired, the company leader has paid 1.3 billion VND/2 billion dong for the employee, still owe 700 million dong and has not closed the social insurance book for employees with the total amount of nearly 6 billion dong. The Labor Federation of Khanh Hoa Province continues to send a written document to Mai Linh Nha Trang urging about the settlement and reporting the results of commitment to fulfill their obligations to employees according to the working minutes on 3.1 but the company does not make reports as required.

At the second meeting, many employees were very upset because the company was continuously "exposing" them, while many people were in trouble.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Quan (residing in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa) shared: My father has been driving for the company for 12 years, and owes 10 million VND in salary and benefits. I myself have been driving for the company for nearly 14 years and am also owed wages. My father waiting to get a salary unfortunately suffered a recent stroke. Now I alone are worried about my mother and 3 children. My youngest child is 4 years old, should have gone to kindergarten but it was so difficult that I only dare to let him stay home and wait until next year to go to school, which is grade 1. I have contacted the company to promise but have not responded for 1 month.

Reflecting at the meeting, Mr. Le Van Toan (residing in Nha Trang City) said that he has been a Mai Linh Nha Trang driver for 11 years, currently owes a salary from August to November 2024 of about 14 million VND, and social insurance of over 70 million VND.

Enterprises around and continue to commit

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Liem, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Labor Federation, the Trade Union has resolutely asked Mai Linh Nha Trang to come up with a final plan and have 4 contents that the company owes to employees including unpaid wages, unpaid social insurance, unpaid vehicle documents, and unpaid deposits.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Tam, Deputy Head of the Economic Security Department, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police emphasized at the meeting: All 4 contents are against regulations. This is the first company in Khanh Hoa to have long-term employee debts, affecting employee lives. Mr. Tam suggested that the Company's representative must have a specific solution for employees.

Representing the employer, Mr. Ha Dang Luyen - Chief of Office of the Board of Directors of Mai Linh Group Joint Stock Company and Mr. Tran Nhat Anh - Director of Mai Linh Nha Trang Company Limited explained, "currently, public debt is high, and cannot be resolved completely".

According to Mr. Luyen, the company's ability roadmap now only solves 300-500 million VND per month for Mai Linh Nha Trang to cover everything. "For cases of lost drivers, accidents will resolve deposits, salary debts, social insurance first. In which, the company is committed to closing the relevant vehicle papers and margin in May. And the two biggest issues are social insurance and employee salaries, the debt pays within 3 months (completed before 8.8225).
