Since the 11th Congress of the Kien Giang Provincial Trade Union, more than 3,000 propaganda campaigns have been carried out to disseminate the Party's policies and resolutions, the State's laws and policies, and work on population, family, and children. Competitions, sports events, meetings to talk about topics and the origin have been organized; activities to care for the lives of, and to represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of female workers have been organized.
Highlights include visiting and supporting hundreds of female union members and workers in difficult circumstances, those suffering from serious illnesses, considering support for the construction and repair of 45 Trade Union Shelters, with a total amount of over 1.8 billion VND. Cooperating with medical facilities to conduct tests, cancer screening, gynecological examinations and health consultations for nearly 2,000 female workers. Participating in 277 inspections and supervising the implementation of policies and laws related to female workers; regularly paying attention to directing and guiding the improvement and improvement of the quality of activities of the Trade Union's mass women's committees at all levels. Directing qualified grassroots trade unions to establish 12 new mass women's committees, achieving and exceeding the targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor every year. Implement many patriotic emulation movements among female union members and employees, focusing on the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" associated with the movement "Building Vietnamese Women of the new era", with a participation rate of over 95% of female union members and employees.
Implementing many effective women's work models at all union levels, such as the model of financial support to encourage female workers to study and improve their qualifications; supporting female workers to give birth; sponsoring poor students and students in especially difficult circumstances; giving birthday gifts to female union members; female workers on maternity leave are supported by business owners with additional salary to pay social insurance...
Mr. Pham Van Dang - Permanent Vice President of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - said: In leadership and management, the women always demonstrate strong political will, constantly study to improve their qualifications, and uphold a sense of responsibility in their work. In all areas of work, the women are always dynamic and creative, practicing industrial style, working skills, and labor discipline. With their families, the women are also active in building "prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilized" families; building families that meet the standards of cultural families in the locality.
“No matter what difficult circumstances they face in life, some of them are low-income workers, have no home and have to rent a place to live, take care of their elderly parents, some are single mothers raising young children… but they always have one thing in common: they are always resilient, strong, a support for their families and constantly strive to rise up and overcome all difficulties. They arrange their housework and work, actively work and produce, participate in union activities, and complete their assigned tasks well,” Mr. Dang shared.
Mr. Pham Van Dang also emphasized that in the coming time, all levels of the provincial Trade Union need to continue to innovate the content and methods of women's activities in a practical and effective manner, closely linked to the interests of female union members and employees. Continue to research and build a model of women's activities suitable to the actual conditions of all types of grassroots trade unions, especially enterprise-based trade unions, to meet the needs and aspirations of female union members and employees.
