Spending more than 38.5 billion VND to take care of union members and workers
The Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade is currently managing 54 affiliated trade unions with more than 82,650 union members. The jobs and lives of union members and workers are generally stable, with an average income of 10-15 million VND/person/month. material and spiritual life is cared for through cultural, artistic, sports activities, union meals, Workers' Month, Union Tet Market, union member welfare, etc.

In the 2023-2025 period, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and its affiliated trade unions have focused on performing well the function of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of employees. Activities to visit and give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Workers' Month, Labor Safety and Hygiene Month; support the construction and repair of "Union Shelter", give savings books to workers; support people and support workers affected by natural disasters, floods... have been implemented practically and effectively. The total amount spent on the above activities at the Industry Union is more than 7 billion VND, at all levels of the Union is more than 31.5 billion VND.
The work of caring for the Lunar New Year has received great attention with the programs "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ket Ket", "Union Tet Market", "Union Meal". The total budget for Tet care of the whole industry reached over 20 billion VND. 100% of units pay full Tet salaries and bonuses; the average bonus for the career sector is from 5-8 million VND/person, the State-owned enterprise sector is from 15-20 million VND/person.
The work of negotiating, dialogue and signing collective labor agreements (CLAs) has achieved many positive results with over 90% of agencies and units organizing CBCCVC conferences and employee conferences. The business sector has developed and amended 629 collective labor agreements, 100% of which have more beneficial provisions for employees. Occupational safety and hygiene (OSH) work has been seriously implemented; 100% of affiliated trade unions responded to the Month of Action on USH; enterprises conducted environmental monitoring, training on USH and paid compensation for toxicity to employees.
Continuing to implement Resolution 10b/NQ-BCH dated December 12, 2020 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the training and fostering of trade union cadres is identified as a strategic and regular task.
In the period of 2023-2025, more than 200 union officials will be trained in AI, using virtual assistants; 61,224 cadres and employees will complete online training and fostering courses on AI; 285 union officials at all levels will be trained in propaganda work, women's work...
The movements "The whole country competes for innovation, creativity and digital transformation" and the movement "Folklore digital learning", the movement "Digital transformation for better work" are widely deployed. Thanks to that, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor have rewarded many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good labor and building a strong trade union organization.
Digital transformation must be the focus of industry unions
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Minister of Science and Technology - affirmed that the 1st Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Congress is a milestone affirming the maturity and position of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in the period of innovation and digital transformation, while identifying a breakthrough direction.

The Minister suggested that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in the coming time support union members and workers to improve their technology learning skills and consider this a core right; the union develops a representative program for each labor group to support according to skill groups; the union becomes a service provider for union members, from labor legal advice, providing basic services; strongly applying digital technology in all union activities, replacing paperwork and digital procedures; the union participates in co-developing policies, not just making policy recommendations; emulation movements must be associated with real value.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - affirmed that over the past 2 years, the activities of trade unions in the science and technology sector have achieved outstanding results, marking many good models and new approaches.

At the same time, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also suggested a number of additional contents for the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to study.
Firstly, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor needs to closely follow the leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to proactively research and promptly advise on policies and orientations for developing the movement of workers, civil servants and trade union activities in accordance with the characteristics of the industry.
Second, promoting the role of trade unions in promoting innovation and digital transformation, considering this the basis and foundation for building fundamental solutions to effectively implement the breakthrough in the coming term of comprehensive digital transformation in trade union activities.
Third, continue to perform well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.
Fourth, improve the quality of organizing patriotic emulation movements in a practical and effective manner, associated with the task of production - business, innovation, improving labor productivity, and the quality of human resources in the science and technology sector.
Fifth, promote training and fostering innovation skills for trade union officials. Each union cadre must become a "digital acid", a "digital tour guide" at the grassroots level.

The Congress announced the decision of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, appointing the first Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 27 comrades, at the congress appointed 25 comrades, with 2 comrades remaining.
The Inspection Committee consists of 9 members, appointed by the conference 8, with 1: Comrade Tran Vu Ha as Chairman.
